Frequently Asked Questions
Honest answers to the questions we hear most — from communities, government agencies, investors, and technical reviewers.
Incineration burns waste at 850–1,200°C using oxygen, which produces dioxins, furans, fly ash, and visible emissions. IGNIS uses advanced thermal decomposition at 380°C in an oxygen-free reactor — there is no combustion, no flame, no toxic ash, and no visible smoke. The process breaks molecular bonds rather than burning material.
We process municipal solid waste (MSW) including mixed household waste, plastics, rubber, textiles, and organic materials. We also process DOE-scheduled waste categories such as contaminated industrial plastics and sludge. We do not accept radioactive waste, explosives, or infectious clinical waste.
Our technology converts waste into two products: Ignis Green Fuel and Green Carbon.
Ignis Green Fuel is an alternative fuel for industrial diesel applications. It is made from excavated waste with high calorific value and provides a more efficient and sustainable option compared to conventional fuel oils.
Green Carbon is used as a pigment in printing inks, a reinforcing filler in tyres and plastic products, and an additive in automotive components such as fuel caps and pipes. It also has good electrical conductivity for industrial uses.
The facility produces near-zero atmospheric emissions. Because the process operates without oxygen, there is no combustion and therefore no smoke, dioxins, or furans. Trace emissions from ancillary systems (such as heating) are continuously monitored and consistently measure below DOE detection thresholds.
Every IGNIS facility operates under DOE-approved Environmental Impact Assessment conditions, with continuous emissions monitoring, quarterly third-party audits, and monthly public reporting. We also maintain a community advisory panel that meets quarterly and has authority to raise concerns directly with management and regulators.
Yes. Our facilities have zero visible emissions, no odour, and noise levels below residential standards at the facility boundary. Independent air quality monitoring confirms that ambient air quality around the facility consistently meets or exceeds DOE standards.
Every facility creates direct employment (70%+ local hires), eliminates landfill-related health hazards, remediates contaminated land, and generates tax revenue for the local authority. We also fund community development initiatives as part of our concession agreements.
Yes. We operate an open-door policy and welcome community members, journalists, and officials to tour the facility by appointment. We believe transparency is earned through access, not claimed through press releases.
New facility locations are determined through a combination of waste supply analysis, state government partnership, DOE environmental assessment, and community consultation. Contact us to begin a feasibility discussion for your area.
Our facilities operate under full DOE Environmental Impact Assessment approval, hold ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) certifications, and comply with all local authority planning and licensing requirements. We also hold specific scheduled waste processing licenses from DOE.
IGNIS facilities are privately funded through a combination of equity investment and project finance. Government agencies do not bear capital costs. Revenue is generated from waste processing fees (tipping fees), fuel sales, material sales, and carbon credits.
We typically operate under 25-year concession agreements with state governments. The agreement covers waste supply commitments, processing fee structures, environmental performance standards, and community benefit obligations. All terms are publicly reportable.
IGNIS offers essential-service infrastructure with long-term concession revenue, diversified income streams (tipping fees, fuel, materials, carbon credits), strong ESG alignment, and growing demand driven by Malaysia's waste crisis and landfill capacity constraints.
We report tonnes of waste diverted from landfill, CO₂-equivalent emissions avoided (verified carbon credits), fuel produced, land remediated, local employment created, and community investment. All metrics are third-party verified and aligned with GRI and SASB frameworks.
We welcome institutional investors, strategic partners, and development finance institutions. Contact our investment team through the Contact page for a detailed information memorandum and to schedule a facility visit and management presentation.
